LEGS & LOWER BACK

 

Module 1

In this module, you will mobilise the joints in legs, work on stability in your lower back and core and work on your squat movement pattern.

HIPS & UPPER BACK

 

Module 2

In this module, we will delve really deep into the hips and the thoracic spine (upper back). We will strengthen the glutes and core some more, also working on agile transitions from sitting to lying down.

I'm active and do other physical activities and sports.
How do I combine it together?
The Midlife Movement works perfectly as a complementary program to your current activity or sport.
You can use the program on your active recovery days or as a warm up. Ideally this program should be your maintenance regime to keep your body ready and performing well. 
Having optimally mobile joints and supple muscles means peak performance, every time! The Midlife Movement program is literally like taking your high performance car for daily VIP service.

 

I haven't exercised for a while. I don't do much.
How will I go through the program if I'm lacking in fitness?
In The Midlife Movement is suitable to any level, ability or skills. My method uses a system of regressions and progressions (meaning making the exercises easier or harder) depending on where you are at at this time.
 
I want you to get amazing results and that is why this is a high touch coaching program. In our coaching calls, we can further modify any exercises to suit you.

I don't have much time or a gym membership. 
What equipment will I need?
The training sessions take no more than 20 minutes (unless you have more time and want to exercise for longer). This time frame is optimal to get you the result you want in the shortest amount of time. 

 

The Midlife Movement is 'do it at home', with very little space required.
The only equipment you need is your body! But don't think it will be easy. Bodyweight movements are wonderfully challenging.

 

What happens if I can't commit to daily training sessions?
I understand you might be leading a busy life. You will see the best results with daily practice so try your best to fit it in.
I recommend you try to do your training sessions in the morning. I know it is a big ask to get up 20 minutes earlier that you are used to but trust me, you will feel amazing, overflowing with abundant energy and vitality. Ready for anything!

 

I already have injuries and limitations ...

- how will you ensure I can perform the movements and get the results?

Remember, you are not doing this alone but with my continuous support. I have many years of experience coaching clients with injuries and I have helped them successfully rehabilitate their injuries.
During our initial session ,we will make a plan how to modify any movements or exercises so you can still get the benefits and rehabilitate at the same time. I will individualise the program to suit you and your body,
The Midlife Movement works perfectly as a rehabilitation but also as a preventative measure for future injuries.

Each module contains mobility warm up, bodyweight exercises, one or two flows and stretches.

Warm up/mobility

Your training sessions will always start with mobility movements which will warm up your joints, increase the range of motion in your joints, remove stiffness and reduce pain and discomfort. Each module contains between 7-10 mobility movements.

 

Movements/exercises

In each module, you will learn between 5-7 bodyweight movements. These are designed to help your muscles get fitter and stronger and to get your heart rate up. Some movements will have simpler versions for beginners as I would like to learn the basics of the movement and then build on it. You can watch and learn these movements in the movement library or use the 'Follow me' videos.

 

The Flow

The flow is where you string all the individual movements you have mastered into one continuous fluid flow. Some modules have an easier flow and a more advanced one. I will coach you step by step into these flows and again, I include modifications for beginners and extensions for the advanced.
